Packaging & Storage:

  • To prevent damage, discoloration, or staining, it is recommended to store the tiles in their original packaging with acid-free wrapping sheets.
  • Raise the packages using appropriate methods to avoid contact with water and/or dirt.

Installation:

Preparation and Subfloor: Ensure the underlayment surface is clean, solid, and level before installation. Applying a layer of waterproofing materials and a vapor barrier is advisable.

Planning: Before installation, lay out at least one row of tiles in each direction without adhesive to check if any adjustments are needed.

Laying: Use pre-bagged high-quality tile adhesive, following the manufacturer's recommendations. For cement-based mortar, adding latex is recommended to improve adhesion. Spread the adhesive on the surface using a notched trowel, working in small areas, and apply adhesive to the back of each tile. Ensure full contact between the tile and adhesive. Carefully press each tile and align them correctly with a 2-3mm grout line.

Cutting: Use a diamond cutter or angle grinder for cutting tiles.

Joints and Grouting: Apply a grout release agent before grouting to prevent staining. For polished surfaces, apply grout with a rubber float and remove excess immediately. Use dry grout/sand or a grout bag for rough surfaces.

Polishing, Sealing, and Maintenance: Allow proper curing time for adhesive and grout. Use a grinding machine for polishing, starting with the roughest pad. Apply two coats of penetrating sealer to prevent staining and improve cleanability. Periodic waxing and buffing are recommended, and avoid acidic cleaners.
